Jewellery Shop Advertisement: 12-Month Plan for a Showroom

A month-by-month jewellery shop advertisement plan for one Indian showroom: campaigns, two ads a month, channels and photos to prepare for each festival.

Most jewellery shop advertisement happens in a panic. Dhanteras is nine days away, nobody has photos, and the ad goes out late.

The fix is not a bigger budget. It is a calendar.

This is a practical plan for the owner of one showroom, or a small chain. It runs January to December, built on the moments when Indian families already plan to buy gold and diamonds. Each month gives you the campaign, the two ads to make, where to post them, and which product photos to prepare ahead.

Two ads a month is the rhythm. It keeps you visible all year without becoming a second job.

How this plan works

Three rules hold the whole plan together.

One campaign a month. Pick the buying moment, build both ads around it, and stop. A showroom that says six things says nothing.

Two ads, two jobs. The first ad warms people up, about a week or ten days before the moment. The second ad closes, posted in the final two or three days with a clear reason to visit now.

Photos first. Every ad below starts from product photographs, collected the month before. A clean photo on a plain background beats a rushed shoot.

A note on dates. Festival dates in India follow the lunar calendar and move by weeks every year. Regional calendars differ too: Onam, Pongal, Ugadi, Gudi Padwa and Bihu mean more or less depending on where your showroom is. This plan names months, not dates. Check this year's calendar and your own city's habits, then shift the campaign to match.

January: bridal season and mid-month gifting

Many Indian families schedule weddings between November and February, so January is a bridal month for most showrooms. Mid-January also brings Makar Sankranti, Pongal and Lohri, which are gifting moments in different regions.

Campaign: bridal sets, plus small gift pieces for the harvest festivals.

Ad 1: a bridal set reveal. One set, three close shots, one line about the occasion.
Ad 2: a short gifting ad with two or three light pieces and a store address.

Channel: Instagram Reels for the bridal ad. WhatsApp broadcast to existing customers for the gifting ad.

Photos: two bridal sets on a plain background, three small gift items, one photo of the gift packaging.

February: Valentine's Day and the tail of wedding season

Valentine's Day on 14 February is a pendant, ring and earring moment for younger buyers. Weddings are still running, so keep one bridal ad alive.

Campaign: Valentine's gifting plus a closing bridal push.

Ad 1: a pendant or ring story, one piece, one line.
Ad 2: a "last of the wedding season" ad for families still shopping.

Channel: Reels and Facebook. Facebook still reaches parents and relatives who buy for weddings.

Photos: four pendants, two couple rings, one bridal set.

March: Women's Day and the spring collection

Women's Day on 8 March gives you a reason to talk to women who buy for themselves. Regional new years such as Ugadi and Gudi Padwa also fall in March or April in many years, and some families buy gold for them.

Campaign: self-purchase and the new spring designs.

Ad 1: a new collection launch, five designs, five seconds each.
Ad 2: a daily-wear ad for working women, light and simple.

Channel: Reels and WhatsApp Status.

Photos: new designs shot together, three daily-wear pieces, one lifestyle image if you have it.

April: Akshaya Tritiya

Akshaya Tritiya falls in April or May, depending on the year. It is one of the strongest gold buying days for many families, and the buyer has usually decided already.

Campaign: Akshaya Tritiya, built as a countdown.

Ad 1: posted ten days out, teasing coins, light chains and what is new.
Ad 2: posted two days before, with opening hours and the store front lit up.

Channel: Reels, then a WhatsApp broadcast to existing customers. This is the month the customer list earns its keep. If you run a savings plan, it matters here too: see gold scheme installment reminders.

Photos: gold coins in their packs, three light chains, one store front photo, one photo of the gift box.

May: Akshaya Tritiya (if late) and Mother's Day

If Akshaya Tritiya fell in April, use May for Mother's Day on the second Sunday. If it falls in May, run April's plan here and fold Mother's Day into the second ad.

Campaign: gifts for mothers, and the second wave of wedding season for families planning spring weddings.

Ad 1: a gifting story: a son or daughter chooses a piece for their mother.
Ad 2: a bangle or chain close-up with a Mother's Day line.

Channel: Reels and Facebook.

Photos: four bangles, two chains, two pairs of earrings, a gift box.

June: daily wear and a gold scheme launch

June is quieter. Use it for the products that sell without an occasion, and for starting a savings scheme if you offer one.

Campaign: lightweight daily-wear jewellery, and the launch of a gold scheme for the festive season ahead.

Ad 1: a daily-wear line, three pieces you can wear to work.
Ad 2: a scheme explainer: how it works, in 30 seconds, with one line on the rules. Keep it plain, and state the terms exactly as your scheme document does. For the follow-up messages after a customer joins, see WhatsApp automation for a jewellery store.

Channel: WhatsApp Status and a broadcast to past customers.

Photos: lightweight sets, a clean shot of your scheme leaflet or counter display.

July: the quiet month, used well

Footfall dips in many cities during the monsoon. Show proof instead of discounting.

Campaign: customer stories and service.

Ad 1: a customer-asked-for-this ad, a piece you made or restocked because someone asked.
Ad 2: a service ad: cleaning, repair, resizing, exchange. Say what you do and how long it takes.

Channel: Reels and WhatsApp Status.

Photos: only with permission: pieces customers approved for sharing. A before and after of a cleaned or repaired piece.

August: Raksha Bandhan and regional festivals

Raksha Bandhan usually falls in August. Onam, and other regional festivals, fall around August and September. If your showroom is in Kerala, Onam gets its own campaign. Elsewhere, Raksha Bandhan leads.

Campaign: sibling gifts, and one regional piece.

Ad 1: a gift story for brothers and sisters.
Ad 2: a regional ad: the pieces your local customers expect at their festival.

Channel: Reels and WhatsApp Status.

Photos: silver and light gold gift items, two regional-style pieces, gift packaging.

September: the pre-festive preview

In some communities, the fortnight before Navratri is not considered a good time to buy anything new. Keep September soft: preview, do not push.

Campaign: a preview of the festive collection.

Ad 1: a new collection reveal, three to five pieces, "coming this month".
Ad 2: a Navratri-ready ad: necklaces and earrings for the nine days.

Channel: Reels and a WhatsApp broadcast that says what is arriving.

Photos: the full festive collection, shot in one session.

October: Navratri, Dussehra and Karva Chauth

October has three moments close together: Navratri, Dussehra and, in many years, Karva Chauth. Dates move, so check the calendar first.

Campaign: the festive necklace and mangalsutra push, plus Karva Chauth gifts for husbands to buy.

Ad 1: a Navratri ad: a necklace or earring set, one close shot, a store line.
Ad 2: a Karva Chauth gifting ad aimed at the husband: one piece, one price band, one reason to come in tonight.

Channel: Reels and Facebook.

Photos: two necklaces, two mangalsutras, bangles, a gift box.

November: Dhanteras, Diwali and the start of wedding buying

Dhanteras and Diwali fall in October or November. They are the biggest buying days of the year for many showrooms, and wedding buying begins soon after. This is the month to use every channel.

Campaign: Dhanteras and Diwali, then a handover to bridal.

Ad 1: the festival-eve countdown, posted several days before. Coins, silver, a few gold pieces.
Ad 2: a Diwali-week bridal ad for families who start wedding shopping after the festival.

Channel: Reels, Facebook, WhatsApp Status and a WhatsApp broadcast. Send the broadcast to existing customers a few days ahead and again the evening before.

Photos: coins and silver items in their packs, bridal sets, store front with lights on.

December: year-end and peak wedding season

December is wedding season in much of India, and it is also when people think about what they bought this year.

Campaign: bridal, and your best sellers of the year.

Ad 1: a bridal set ad aimed at families with a wedding date already fixed.
Ad 2: a "what customers chose this year" ad, built from your real best sellers, with no invented numbers.

Channel: Reels and a WhatsApp broadcast.

Photos: your top five sellers, two bridal sets.

How to budget the plan

There are two costs in this plan: making the ads, and putting money behind them.

Making the ads. If you hand this to an editor or a studio, you pay for every shoot and every revision, every month. VoxDonna's Video Ads Manager is ₹9,990 a month for two 30-second vertical AI video ads, made from your product photos, captioned and ready for Reels, Facebook and WhatsApp Status. Script, production and revisions are included. It is billed monthly through Razorpay and you can cancel any time. The ads are made with video models trained on jewellery imaging. That price lines up with the plan: two ads a month, every month.

Putting money behind them. This is the part where owners overspend. A sensible order:

  1. Post every ad organically first: your Reels, your Facebook page, your WhatsApp Status.
  2. Send the closing ad to your existing customers by WhatsApp broadcast. It costs nothing in ad spend.
  3. Boost only the closing ad of a major festival month, and only after you have seen it get real enquiries without boosting.
  4. Write down a ceiling before you start.

Boost the months where buyers have already decided: Akshaya Tritiya, Dhanteras and Diwali, and peak wedding months. Do not boost in July.

Need campaign stills too? Donna Photoshoot makes them with an Indian model, 50 locations and three framings per shoot, on prepaid credits.

How to measure it

Views are not the goal. Enquiries are.

Track three things on paper or a simple sheet:

Judge after three months. One month is noise. Three shows which campaigns to keep. The Video Ads Manager rhythm of two ads a month makes that comparison easy.

Common mistakes

Running every festival. Pick the six or seven that match your customer. A showroom for Marwari families and a showroom for Tamil families do not share a calendar.

Discounting by default. A discount teaches customers to wait. Lead with the piece and the occasion.

Posting AI ads without checking them. Compare every frame against the real piece. The stones, the weight and the design must match what is on your shelf. A mismatch costs more trust than the ad earned.

Frequently asked questions

How should a jewellery shop advertise?

Build the year around the moments your customers already buy: weddings, Akshaya Tritiya, Raksha Bandhan, Navratri, Dhanteras and Diwali. Make two ads for each moment, one to warm people up and one to close, and post them on Instagram Reels, Facebook and WhatsApp Status. Send the closing ad to your existing customers by WhatsApp. Boost only the biggest festival ads.

When should a jewellery shop start its wedding season ads?

Start four to six weeks before families in your area begin shopping. Many families plan weddings from November to February and again in spring, but regional calendars differ, so ask your own customers when their families begin. Run bridal reveals first, then closing ads as dates get near.

How much should a jewellery shop spend on advertising?

There is no number that fits every showroom. Start with what you can make for free: organic posts, Status and WhatsApp broadcasts to past customers. Add paid boosting only for the festivals where enquiries already follow your organic ads, and fix a ceiling before you begin. VoxDonna's Video Ads Manager is ₹9,990 a month for two AI video ads.

Which channels work best for jewellery shop advertisement in India?

Instagram Reels for reach, Facebook for parents and relatives who buy for weddings, WhatsApp Status for people who already know the showroom, and WhatsApp broadcast for existing customers. Most showrooms get their cheapest enquiries from the last two. Use all four in Dhanteras and Diwali month.
